HR Assistant/Payroll Officer
Based in our Melbourne office, the HR Assistant/Payroll Officer will be responsible for supporting the HR Manager in establishing the HR/Payroll function within the business.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the effective management of a number of personnel records and producing relevant correspondence
- Assisting the HR Manager in regards to industrial relations including research and administration to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Assisting with developing HR and Payroll policies and procedures
- Screening potential candidates, booking and leading interviews and testing sessions and ensuring necessary arrangements are made prior to new employees' first day of employment
- Leading induction sessions
- Monitoring probationary periods
- Processing monthly payroll and superannuation contributions; liaising with outsourced payroll company and ensuring compliance with superannuation regulations
- Updating content on Australian Intranet
- Researching suitable training providers and booking courses
- Researching potential employee benefits
- Arranging company travel and events
- Other general administrative duties as required
The successful applicant will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' general HR experience
- Proven experience in recruitment, selection and interviewing
- Understanding of Australian employment legislation and exposure/experience with Awards
- Understanding of OH&S legislation
- A minimum of 1 year's payroll experience
- Able to produce mail merges, spreadsheet manipulation and power point presentations
