Credit Risk Officer - Melbourne, Australia
We are currently seeking a Credit Risk Officer to join the finance team in our Melbourne office.
Reporting to the Head of Credit, and working as part of the finance team, your role is to support key credit functions such as monitoring client accounts, administering payments and assessing risk.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Managing the client credit register and monitoring client accounts
- Understanding the company credit risk rules
- Monitoring debts on a daily basis
- Collecting long-term debts, including liaising with internal solicitors
- Determining most appropriate collection plan with a focus on the customer and cost effectiveness
- Providing an accurate and timely level of Customer Service to both our internal and external partners
- Organising/verifying payments and compiling weekly/monthly management information
- Overseas debt recovery, offering advice and managing the process
- Assessing clients’ account limits (including upgrading/downgrading accounts)
- Understanding the Risk Management process within the Credit Control function
- Reconciliations, banking and administering payments
- Liaising with our Credit Risk Team
The successful applicant will have:
- Minimum 12 months’ experience within a similar environment i.e. financial services, credit control
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven problem-solving ability and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Good negotiation skills
- Good time-management skills
- Sound numerical and analytical skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Financial markets knowledge desirable but not essential
