Content Writer - Chinese
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager this entry level role will be responsible for developing and maintaining agreed foreign language websites in line with business aims and development strategy. It is therefore essential that the successful candidate will be a Native speaker in the target language, fluent in English and will be required to translate using both Mandarin and Cantonese and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Writing (and/or translating from English) and maintaining the online content of IG’s financial websites, especially the Chinese language sites, (includes product and service descriptions, market news, platform help pages, technical product details, updating legal copy).
- Adjusting/translating copy of online and offline communications for the appropriate audience from the retail market through to the high-end institutional investor.
- Writing (and/or translating from English) and managing the delivery of client emails (routine and one-off promotions or newsletters)
- Assisting internal SEO team to improve the natural search rankings of our websites.
- Providing and reworking copy for other departments and offices and for selected third parties.
- Assisting in the production of printed materials.
- Ensuring accuracy and consistency of IG’s house style and brand guidelines and liaise with IG’s compliance teams to ensure all content and materials comply with general and local regulations.
- Participating in relevant marketing projects as directed by line-manager
The successful applicant will have:
- A minimum of one year’s financial marketing experience
- Excellent written abilities in the target language, and a desire to work with the written word
- A keen eye for detail
- An appreciation of website usability and design issues
- Experience of working within a corporate editorial (print or online) environment in the target language
- Strong numerical skills
