Compliance Assistant - Chinese

Reporting to the Head of Compliance – Australia and New Zealand, the role will be assisting in ensuring compliance of Chinese language business operations with all internal procedures and regulatory requirements. Therefore it is essential the successful candidate can speak and read traditional Chinese and speak either Mandarin or Cantonese at a business standard.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Completion of operational risk compliance testing programs including reports and recommendations
• Monitoring recorded calls for compliance
• Interpretation of English to Chinese and Chinese to English content in relation to laws and regulations
• Developing Chinese language documentation with direction
• Assisting staff and management with compliance
• Assisting with due diligence procedures

The successful applicant will have:

• The ability to speak and read traditional Chinese
• The ability to speak either Cantonese or Mandarin to business standard
• Sound English language proficiency
• Financial products/markets experience
• Exposure or awareness of risk methodologies
• Understanding of compliance testing
• Experience in analysis and research
• Ability to develop business relationships

The role would ideally suit someone studying within the law or finance frameworks and looking to pursue a career in this area, or an experienced candidate looking to return to the workforce in a part-time role.

This role offers the opportunity to experience the broad spectrum of compliance duties within a global financial trading company whilst working on a part-time basis.
