IG Group’s constituent businesses are frequently recognised for their high quality service, with IG Index and IG Markets, as well as our overseas operations, all receiving multiple industry awards in recent years.
These awards have covered a range of areas, recognising everything from the quality of our overall service to our trading platform itself.
Awards in the UK
At the MoneyAM Online Finance Awards 2010, IG Index took home the award for Best Spread Betting Service, as well as being named as Best Overall Online Provider and winning in the Best Online Charts category. These awards, voted for by MoneyAM website visitors, confirm that IG Index continues to hold its position as the UK’s number one spread betting service.
Shares magazine has named IG Index Best Spread Betting Firm for three consecutive years, from 2007 to 2009. This prolonged stretch of victories demonstrates both the quality and the consistency of the company’s spread betting offering, and the fact that the result was based on the number of votes received from readers of Shares magazine made the award especially valuable.
In 2009, specialist research agency Investment Trends confirmed IG Index as the UK's number one financial spread betting firm; we were rated top in every market share measure the agency used. The same study found IG Markets to be the largest single provider of CFD accounts in the UK, with one in three CFD traders holding a direct account with us.
In 2008 IG Index was named Best Spread Betting Firm and Best Binary Betting Firm at the Financial Times/Investors Chronicle Awards, and in 2009 a Best Online Provider award from Money Magazine was added to the list of trophies.
Overseas recognition
IG Markets Australia was judged Best CFD Provider for both 2010 amd 2009 by Money Magazine as part of their Best of the Best awards. This award added to a host of other Australian awards, including:
- Five-star rating from Canstar Cannex for Outstanding Value CFD Provider in 2010.
- The Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Award from Smart Investor Magazine in 2010
- Best CFD Provider from TheBull 'Stockies' Awards in 2010 and 2009
- Best Forex Provider from TheBull 'Stockies' Awards in 2010
- Best Forex Provider from TheBull 'Tradies' Awards in 2008
- Recommended CFD Provider and Forex Provider from Smart Investor Magazine in 2008 and 2009.
We have also taken awards in Spain, with IG Trader (PureDeal) being named Best CFD Platform in 2008 and 2009 by the readers of weekly financial magazine Mi Cartera de Inversión.
Technology awards
PureDeal has been recognised as the Best Active Trading Platform by the users of MoneyAM, and our unique charting package, DealThru, was also recognised with a Best Online Product Innovation prize at the Financial Times/Investors Chronicle awards.
Our DealThru Charts feature was also awarded Best Online Product Innovation by the Financial Times/Investors Chronicle in 2008.
Employer awards
In 2010 IG Group received certification as one of Britain’s Top Employers as a result of independent research by the CRF Institute. Their study showed that IG Group Holdings plc has outstanding HR policies and offers excellent working conditions to its staff. The group was described as having a supportive culture with a real passion for success.
